About Me

Growing up with a very creative, artistic father, meant that I was always up to some sort of artsy/crafty activity. As an only child (until I was 16!) I loved nothing more than locking myself away for hours and drawing, painting or crafting 'til my little heart was content.

As a young girl of maybe ten, I can remember my Granny teaching me to knit. Now, my Grandmothers came from that generation of women who were experts in 'Make Do and Mend'. They were knitters, crocheters, seamstresses, bakers and cooks. Watching Granny knit a complicated aran cardigan, with no pattern, whilst chatting and simultaneously watching TV is a strong childhood memory.

So I think that's where it started, this love I have for all things textile and needlework. Fast forward to my thirties (early thirties that is! lol) and I knit, sew, embroider, patchwork and quilt. I have attempted to learn crochet a few times but I shall have to make do with the basics! I am largely self taught in all these areas.

My passion is for making little doll softies, and I tutor a girls sewing class, ages seven and up. We are called the Saturday Stitches Club and I LOVE these girls, they inspire me EVERY week.

So that's what this blog is about, my crafty endeavours, and my journey into the realm of Etsy, with a little dash of the Saturday Stitches Club thrown in, and perhaps a few pics of my gorgeous Lurcher, Rookie. :)

Thanks for dropping by, make yourself a cuppa and stay a while. Leave me comments or get in touch, I would love to hear from you!
